Ambient and awesome. :) Least the first track you hear, not further into it yet... in response to the review response: yeah man, I review everything! Not as often music though since I feel it's just harder to review, but the new review crew's zeroing in on all AIM entries this year so I'm working through those at least. :) Really, really cool stuff everyone's making this year. Inspiring audiovisual artistry.

Thanks again! First AIM I've done let alone making things based off existing art. Definitely some neat stuff being made, I got the feeling some great new music styles are going to be erupting soon in the coming years now that a new generation is entering the scene.

Hey what a coincidence - first AIM I'm reviewing too. XD Gotta get in on the future ones too though... maybe actually make some stuff... yeah some of the tracks here are pretty revolutionary, though often feels like a combination of genres rather than anything new... but how do you define a new genre? Maybe all are really hybrids of others.

Everything is a combination of something to create something new. It's just like cooking, combining different ingredients to make a new food. Just how art works, inspiration is gained from one thing and then melted together to become a new thing. As for the names of the genre, that's up to the group of people who listen or are making it. Usually just has to do with if it has a certain sound/structure/pattern for which it follows in order to create that type of music. People would also say that it's just marketing to create an identity, so people will latch on that one thing they like and have prejudice for other genres. It's all music in the end.

Indeed. You wonder though if there'll be a time when all combinations have been done, and everything documented; when there's no new flavor you can bring forth. Feels like the combinations just can't be infinite - back in the day new instruments like the electric guitar really revolutionized the industry; brought forth a plethora of possibilities, but nowadays it seems like everything new is mostly digital... maybe I'm out of the loop though. Would be cool with something that really revolutionizes sound again. Something better than autotune.

I mean sampling is the biggest thing right now. The ability to make anything an instrument is the craziest achievement. I imagine the next thing is probably going to be something with VR or a new way to listen/experience music. We still haven't even done everything we could possibly do with Sampling yet and back then I'm sure they thought the same thing just with different context. "What could possibly change this?" It's just like how we believed there was no way people could travel high in the sky like a bird. Music and art evolve with society; and society evolves with technology. I'm curious as to how our current political system is going to change based on the fact we are more connected to one another than ever before. So the need for middle men representatives for cities/towns to vote for the people, doesn't really need to be there if the people can vote for themselves now.. We're in a very interesting time in history my friend.

We always believed we could fly though didn't we. ;) Yeah, good points. Just seems like there's a limit to the possible alternations of sound itself, like there are limitations to nuances of color. There are only so many colors, you know? Eventually you'll have to find all combinations. Unless there are colors we can't even perceive, similar to frequencies in sound, in which case... could be some interesting things done there.

I do hold some high hopes for the Internet on spreading awareness; making for a brighter future, but then again the corporations have more control now than ever. Did you know for example that the federal reserve's actually a privately owned agency/central bank, granted special privileges by the government, and thus immune to the legislation that affects other banks? There's an elite at the top of that pyramid with so much power I can't help feel the future seems pretty dystopian after all, even if people believe they have the power: do they really? I think we need to become self-sustainable first to really regain the power over the corporations.

and with music specifically: the loudness wars, mainstream music continually decreasing in tonality, frequency range and instrumental variation, pretty much every hit song the last few years independent of artist written by the same dude (Max Martin), record labels pushing for a standard people can relate to as to guarantee commercial gain with each new release; systematically reducing musical quality for the masses with their provenly profitable formula... and the millennial whoop, auto tune, mumble rap, ugh... really happy there are still places like NG! XD Going for more and more Indie the more I can, even if those hit songs are hella catchy. Their methods definitely work. But yeah: I am intrigued to hear what's coming next. Hope even mainstream can get back on the right track. And Andrew Huang's been paving the way with that instrument-out-of-everything thing I guess!

VR in relation to sound seems interesting too!

There's definitely limitations with sound and color just by our biology, I know butterfly's can see colors that we can't even comprehend. Though the combinations within those limitations certainly seem endless. Thinking of styles, how every human has a unique style of using the tools we've created to create. Aesthetics are always evolving.

I knew that, it's horseshit and the fact that education doesn't even touch on that fact is abhorrent. Hell most school's don't even support creativity or education through experience. The last 3 years of my Highschool education was just the same thing over and over, only variety I had was my electives which turned out to be valuable experiences. If every school offered for students to experience different careers in their community, that'd give so many people a better idea of what they enjoy. Also philosophy should be a standard, it's literally lessons on life that everyone should have an idea about. Education has really become a corporation too. Raising percentage averages for letter grades and giving more simpler tests so everyone in school may have a higher grade which, in turn, looks good on the school. Allowing them to get more funding for things they use on their football team.. Colleges are even worse...

The music industry has definitely been overusing that hand for too long. But now anyone can get heard on the internet, it may not be as loud as someone with a million dollar marketing budget but they can definitely make things happen. Especially with tons of indie labels cropping up and internet radio stations playing music they like. It's become a huge clash between indie musicians to sound unique against the thousands of other tracks being put up every day. Also more and more people are seeking something that isn't the same thing rehashed over and over again that's constantly advertised in your face. I know I really hated hearing the same sound on the radio and not finding anything really interesting on it either. One of the main reasons I started doing music was because I wanted to make something I'd listen to. Hence the saying "A guy who makes sounds that sound good to him." Just like Stan Lee who made comics that he'd enjoy.

I don't know if it's a cultural thing that the mainstream sound succeeds in how it does, but there has to be a more profitable way for creativity to thrive and be recognized.

Also Andrew Huang is real fun to watch, been seeing a lot of those types of channels popping up. And in response to the rap beatZ: I was messing around with a pretty old school hiphop beat a few nights ago. You got discord?
